Master Al-Nasser (6th dan Hapkido, 4th dan Hankido and 4th dan Hankumdo) began his martial arts training by studying Southern-style Praying Mantis Gung Fu at the Bamboo Monastery in Minneapolis, Minnesota under Art Wong and Tommy Wong in 1982. In 1984, he studied Kali, Jeet Kune Do and Muay Thai under Rick Faye of the Minnesota Kali Association. In 1986, he studied Moo Duk Kwan Taekwondo under his cousin, David Hubbard (TKD 3rd dan) and finally in 1996, Master Al-Nasser began studying Hapkido, the art in which he has chosen to concentrate his martial arts training. He is also a direct student of Grandmaster Myung Jae Ok, the founder of the World Hoi Jeon Moo Sool Federation and holds an instructor certificate in HJMS.

June 2003: Private Hankido training by President Myung Sung Kwang (명성광) of the International HKD Federation – Jaenam Musul Won in Yong-In, Korea.
November 2004: Private training in Hoi Jeon Moo Sool (회전무술) taught by Grandmaster Myung Jae Ok (명재옥), in Incheon, Korea.
July 1, 2005: Changed school name to Ji Yong Kwan (지용관/智勇館).
August 11, 2005: Received school recognition (No. 1469) and letter of appointment (No. 210500) as an instructor by Presient Myung Sung Kwang (명성광) of the International HKD Federation – Jaenam Musul Won.
June 5-12, 2006: Private training in Hoi Jeon Moo Sool (회전무술) by Grandmaster Myung Jae Ok (명재옥).
November 30, 2006 – December 6, 2006: Traveled to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of the Bahrain Hapkido Centre.
October 28, 2011: Volunteered with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Operations Bureau – Muslim Community Affairs unit providing a self-defense workshop for Muslim youth at the La Mirada Masjid, La Mirada, California.
December 2, 2011: Volunteered with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Operations Bureau – Muslim Community Affairs unit providing a self-defense workshop for Muslim youth and adults at the King Fahad Mosque, Culver City, California.
March 15, 2012: Awarded HJMS instructor certification from Grandmaster Myung Jae Ok, the founder of the World Hoi Jeon Moo Sool Federation.
January 4, 2013: Received an Outstanding Leadership Award.
March 29, 2013: Received International Referee class “C-1” certification.

December 18, 2016: Received the Best Mugunghwa Peace Award & Martial Arts Award from the World Culture Exchange Foundation in Seoul, Korea.
July 21, 2017: Received a Certificate of Appreciation for the 2017 World Hapkido Championship in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
December 1, 2022: Founded the Lao Hapkido Federation (ສະຫະພັນ ຮັບກິໂດ ແຫ່ງຊາດລາວ).
December 10, 2023: Appointed as the IHF Chairman of Laos by Doju Myung Sung Kwang.
June 1, 2024: Awarded 4th dan Hankumdo by Doju Myung Sung Kwang at the IHF HQ in Yong-In, Korea.
October 28, 2024: Changed school name to Hwa Ki Kwan (화기관/和氣館).
