Brown’s Hotel, the historic Rocco Forte property at the heart of London’s Mayfair, has unveiled three new Forte Suites, each inspired by the area’s rich musical past.

The Clementi, Clara Dow, and Nightingale Suites offer guests a blend of heritage, artistry, and modern luxury, marking the first phase of an ambitious design refresh at London’s oldest luxury hotel.

The Clementi Suite pays homage to Roman-born composer Muzio Clementi, who made Mayfair his home. Designed with serene draped fabrics and a calming palette anchored in Farrow & Ball’s Calke Green, the suite balances antique accents with contemporary art. A concealed door - a playful nod to the work of English architect Sir John Soane - adds an unexpected element of discovery, highlighting the suite’s dialogue between past and present.

The Clara Dow Suite celebrates the life and artistry of the celebrated English soprano and Gilbert & Sullivan star. Decorative cornices, hand-crafted San Patrignano wallpaper, and period-inspired details create a theatrical atmosphere, evoking Edwardian Mayfair. Once photographed at the iconic Dover Street Studios, Clara Dow is reimagined in a space that captures both her artistic legacy and the creative spirit of her era.

Finally, the Nightingale Suite, designed solely by Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte Hotels’ Director of Design, draws inspiration from the 1939 wartime ballad A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, famously sung by Dame Vera Lynn, a former guest of the hotel. Intimate lighting, handwoven rugs, and sculptural sconces create a nostalgic ambiance, while an Emperador marble bathroom with a porthole window offers a serene retreat overlooking Mayfair rooftops.

Speaking on the new suites, Olga Polizzi commented, “We have created spaces that feel deeply connected, to the building, to Mayfair, and to the people who have shaped it over the years. This project is among the most personal and meaningful we’ve undertaken at Brown’s Hotel.”

Designers Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen added, “Every element, from the building shell to the bespoke interiors, is conceived as a complete work of art.”

The Forte Suites, available from £3,500 per night, continue Brown’s Hotel’s tradition as a cultural and artistic landmark, offering guests a unique place in Mayfair’s musical narrative.
